Tennessee River Barbeque Sauce is a consistent award-winner!

In order to find the Best of the Best BBQ Sauce, Burger King and the National BBQ Festival teamed up to offer entries to sauces which had proof of winning honors in the previous 12 months. This allowed the pallets of judges to taste only the top award-winning barbecue sauces in America, the only event known to do so, during the National BBQ Festival’s prejudging on October 14, 2006.
The top three winners in each category are listed below (see complete listings at www.nationalbbqfestival.com).
TOMATO MILD
1) Old Ray’s Kentucky Red Bourbon Barbeque Sauce, Goshen, OH;
2) Meadow Creek Hickory BBQ Sauce, New Holland, PA (2005 Grand Champion); and
3) Tennessee River BBQ Sauce, Kingston, TN.
TOMATO SPICY
1) Uncle Pete’s Spicy BBQ Sauce, Hilton Head, SC;
2) Firefly’s Beelzebar BBQ Sauce, Marlboro, MA; and
3) Uncle Pete’s Original BBQ Sauce, Hilton Head, SC.
MUSTARD MILD
1) Big Bob Gibson Bar-B-Q Backyard Mustard Sauce, Decatur, AL;
2) Ole Ray’s Classic Gold Barbeque Sauce, Goshen, OH; and
3) Ozark’s Country Meats Carolina Mustard Sauce, White Rock, British Columbia, Canada.
MUSTARD SPICY
1) Hog Wash BBQ Sauce, Benton, MS;
2) 2) Ole Ray’s Kentucky Gold Bourbon Barbeque Sauce, Goshen, OH; and
3) Jack’s Bar-B-Que Carolina Sauce, Nashville, TN.
VINEGAR MILD
1) Woody’s Mild Bar-B-Q Sauce, Waldenburg, AR; 2)
2) Woody’s Mild Hickory Bar-B-Q Sauce, Waldenburg, AR; and
3) Hometown Carolina Style BBQ Sauce, Lawrenceville, GA.
VINEGAR SPICY
1) 1) Woody’s Hot Hickory Bar-B-Q Sauce, Waldenburg, AR; 2)
2) Woody’s Hot Bar-B-Q Sauce, Waldenburg, AR; and
3) Rocky Mountain Texas Spicy, Redmond, OR.
Our Spicy sauce took 1st Place in a 2005 Kansas City sanctioned Tennessee State Bar-B-Q Championship cook-off, 3rd Place with the 2005 National BBQ Association "Best of the Best", and 4th place People’s Choice Award in Atlanta in a national competition sponsored by the National Barbecue Association.
